Top five best and worst films ever

We here at ADR have been slacking on the top five for Wednesdays, so we are going to cram two top fives into one blog. Now it is always a touchy subject when it comes to films because everyone has different genres they like more then others. But we here at ADR are big films watches and love just to watch. So we will submit some honorable mentions so that everyone can be happy. So here goes the top five best films ever.

Like we said, if you have a problem with any of these films, we here at ADR will except your comments, and then erase them, if need be. Cause these are the best films ever. But like we said, we will at least make some honorable mentions, and then we will close the door. Until another great movie comes along, and then we will have to open the door again. They are as follows:

And now on to the five worst. If you like any of these films, you are completely mental.

Alright, this is it. If we have offended anyone out there, suck it up. We are going to stand true to our choices. Those movies do suck and they know it. And so do we, cause we sat through each and ever one. Others we slept through. Now we know that Stallone and Van Damme are some of our favorite actors, but they suck in these roles. They should have just stuck to what they knew. Now they are forever linked to total suckyness. 

Hope you enjoy all of this, you don't know how tough it is to make these choices. There are so many great films out there. And hopefully, we can make a list someday that entails all of our favorite and worst films. ADR out!!!       

   

We are for Team Jacob

We at ADR were not into this saga when it first came out. In fact, we thought it was down right stupid. The first film of this saga, Twilight, was nothing that really caught our eyes. It seemed all so preposterous that a new girl showing up to a new town and find out like over night that vampires were living among the locals. On top of this, one of the vamps was this cute loner. She falls in love with him, and some how, he fights off his need to kill her by sucking her blood dry. We were not impressed by this one bit, seeing that we are big fans of the film Lost Boys. 

Now there is this hot chic that I know, and every time I see this film, I think of her. She is the real Star. True that.  

(Star is hot, unlike Bella, who looks like a small elf boy)

Now with the arrival of New Moon, after further review, we here at ADR are getting into all of the hype. Don't get us wrong, the vampires are creepy as hell, bordering on gayness. But the introduction of the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob is what gets us. 

(Even though Jacob is Bella's second fiddle, he can still kick Edward's ass)

And this is what we like about it all. Love is a strange and powerful thing. And in this situation, to find yourself in love with a wolf and vampire, you might want to rethink your choice of men. Now if you have ever loved someone that didn't love you in the same way back, then you'd understand what it is to be Jacob. Jacob is the underdog in this all.  And even though he might be the better suitor for Bella, she is more in love with Edward. I think age has a lot to do with it. Seeing that poor Jake is younger. But he could say all the right things, but she's just not that into him. And that's a shame. But we here at ADR are pulling for you, dawg. Cause if it came down to it, you could take Edward. 

So for all of you that believe in the underdog, jump on board. Ed might be able to read minds, but it seems like he not a great fighter. How the hell is he suppose to protect anything. Either way, this is not going to end well. And we base all this on not reading the books, which we care not to.  ARD out!! 

 

Long live Sherlock Holmes

Not that any cares, but we here at ADR are big Sherlock Holmes fans. So it is with sweet anticipation that we wait for the new Holmes film to hit the screens as Robert Downey Jr plays the more rough and disruptive Holmes then ever portrayed on the big screen before. 

Now if you know anything about the man behind the man, Sir Athur Conan Doyle, then you would know that this guy always painted himself as a badass. A real ladies man, and overall genius dealing with the cutting edge of science, physics, human anatomy, and human phycology, it was not enough for this dude to be the founding father of forensic science. I mean, this guys started all these damn shows like CSI, and NCIS. But then he decides to start writing about it, and when stories about himself didn't find an audience, he made the more reclusive character of Sherlock Holmes.  In fact, the both characters of Holmes and Watson were both parts of Doyle himself that he thought up. But Holmes was more the man he wanted to be, while Watson was more the man he really was. 

From what we have seen in trailers and what we could find on the internet, it looks like director, Guy Ritchie, has brought out more of the roughness that other films in the past tent to over look about Holmes. And it seems that Watson is more daring then in the past as well. I know that the character of Irene Adler is also in the film, so I'm not sure where the plot will have is store for us.  But I really can't wait to see it. 

Now if you are a Holmes fan like us, then I now you are stoked as much as we are to see this film. Holmes is a timeless character that a lot of these tv show detectives bit off of all the time. So I recommend you go and see the original. ADR continues!!

Add some cheap FX to your next horror indy film

If we haven't said it already, Happy Halloween from America Daily Record. Now, we here at ADR are ferocious film watchers. And we also like to promote filmmakers to get out there and live the dream. But if you find that you are on a tight budget, there are some great ways to find alternatives to big budget FX on a not so big a budget.

Since it is Halloween, I know a lot of you junior filmmakers are looking for ideas for props and gags to spice up your indy horror film. Of if you just want to make a film for the first time thing about this picture.

What the hell happened to the Horror genre

Seriously, ADR land, what the hell happened here? Halloween is getting closer, and the more and more I look around and try to get in the mood, the more and more I get disappointed about all the stupid crap in films that the industry has pushed on to us. They try to pass if off as cool, yet thrilling. Who are they trying to kid? I grew up on horror films, and geinually as a kid, I was scared shitless. Who the hell can get scared from seeing two dude vampires kiss. I mean that's a different scary altogether. I don't just blame Ann Rice and that chic who wrote the Twilight trilogy. I don't even blame Harry Potter. I blame Jake Nicholson. Yes, Jake F@#king Nicholson for making one of the worst horror films and opening up the doors for Monsters with no primal instinct about their monstrous nature.

"Wolf" got the ball rolling for suck ass horror films with high production value, and none of the promise to put a brown stain in your drawers. Now we have vampires that have conscious decisions to make on whether to suck the blood of the girl they love or eat a vegan salad. And sadly, they'd rather eat the salad. Suck that bitches blood, man, that's what your suppose to do, dog!! This all has lead to the decline of horror films and what they are originally suppose to stand for. These are transcending ideas of the paranormal world. Things that are suppose to make us creeped out, not want to hump it. 

Really, I understand that not all horror films today are sad to think about. Some are really good. Like the new "Friday, the thirteenth." Hey, maybe I'm on to something here. I should make a movie where Jason has feelings for a chic he goes to high school with. But he's a loner, and a rebel, and all the other kids think he's strange and attractive with that mask on. But the chic understands his teen angst, and instead of chopping that bitch into pieces, like he's wants to, he is conflicted with his love for her. But her father is against it, and he's forced to show his true nature against Freddy who has been wanting to put Jason in his place the whole movie. In the end, love wins out, and Jason puts his killing to bed when he ends Freddy's existence. 

Please, film industry, I am asking that you give us back our bad guy monsters. Give them back their dark and morbid nature and let them kill stupid drunk kids that are so happen to wonder around in the dark corners of large castles. It's just that I'm tired of watching horror films where if you miss a text message your dead. What genius came up with that idea?  ADR out!!
